Diabetes is a disease that happens when the amount of glucose or blood sugar gets too high. Glucose is the main source of our body's energy which comes mostly from the food we eat. Normally insulin a hormone made by the pancreas helps glucose from our food getting to our cells for the use of energy. But what happens if we can't produce enough insulins or we produce none at all. With type 1 diabetes are bodies immune system destroys the cell in our pancreas these means are body can no longer make insulin and we need to take daily to live. In type 2 diabetes if our body doesn't use insulin well or the pancreas makes some insulin but not enough to carry sufficient glucose into our cells. Any way, we need to make up the difference by taking insulin or other diabetes medications to control our blood sugar. But either type of diabetes glucose levels in our blood can get to high which can lead to health problems including eye disease, kidney disease, Nerve disease, Heart disease. However, diabetes is serious it can be managed so it's less likely to cause health problems.

Type 1 Diabetes is unavoidable, but Type 2, which is more common, can be prevented by eating healthy, exercising or being more active, and losing weight. 


EAT NUTRITIOUS FOODS, AVOID EATING FATTY AND SWEETENED FOODS. 

Eating healthy foods, not only prevents diabetes, but it also prevents various diseases such as hypertension (high blood), heart disease, and many more. Practice eating fruits and vegetables daily, and choose healthy or nutritious foods whenever you buy in the market. Reduce fatty food and avoid eating sweets. At first, you can be helped with foods that have little or no sugar but as you get used to it, you will notice that these foods are delicious too - sugar overcomes the natural taste of foods.

BE ACTIVE; EXERCISE!

At any age, there are physical activities that you can do and enjoy. Choose what suits your lifestyle. No need to spend money to have an active lifestyle - just run to your village every morning, or play basketball with your neighbors. Choose the activities you enjoy or comfortable, and find out about the programs in your community - Like free Zumba or other physical activity. Mountain Hiking or hiking in forests, beaches, and other places of nature is also a great activity.

Weight loss plays a huge role in preventing diabetes, and the first two tips are the key to achieving it. Remember, these steps are not easy to do, especially at first, but they are much easier when you are used to them. Just think of it as much harder if you have diabetes: prevention is better than cure!
